Hello,
I was wondering when domain expires, and leaves behind contact and
nssets, are they deleted after some time?
Is there any messages email/epp generated to registrar on these events ?

Exactly, if they are not linked to any object they are deleted after 6
month (parametr):
fred=> select * from enum_parameters where id=11;
id | name | val
----+---------------------------------------+-----
11 | object_registration_protection_period | 6
(1 row)
Contact or technical contact of nsset (resp. keyset) are informed by
email and registrars are informed by poll message.

New subject: protection period
When an object has been deleted, it has a protection period.
Is it possible to disable this protection period, and if yes, then how can i
do it ?

It can be done by setting parameter to zero number of month:
fred=> select * from enum_parameters where id=12;
id | name | val
----+---------------------------------------+-----
12 | handle_registration_protection_period | 2
(1 row)
fred=> update enum_parameters set val=0 where id=12;

New subject: postpone delete
We want to prevent deletion of a few domain names (both dns and
registration), even after they have expired,
and also after expiration_dns_protection_period and
expiration_registration_protection_period are over.
Is this possible, and if yes, how can we do it ?
Im hoping for a fast answer.

Hello, Jaromir.
We are setting up FRED 2.2.0 on our FRED server. Apparently you are setting this parameter
to 0 as a default now. Am I correct?. I was about to setting this to 0, but I notice it
has that value now.
BTW, I'm almost done with the new documentation. We are setting up FRED 2.2.0 on an
Ubuntu 10.4 LTS.
