Hi all,
bit of a beginners question just installing fred using fred-manager. Installed all
neccessary packages now going to run fred get the following
./root/bin/fred-client
/tmp/root/lib/python2.6/site-packages/fred/session_base.py:649: DeprecationWarning:
os.popen3 is deprecated. Use the subprocess module.
pipes = os.popen3(self._external_validator)
FredClient 2.1.2
Type "help", "license" or "credits" for more information.
Using configuration from /tmp/root/etc/fred/fred-client.conf
Connecting to localhost, port 22351 ...
ERROR: I cannot connect to the server localhost.
Connection socket.error: [Errno 111] Connection refused (localhost:22351)
not sure if this is just a typical error from an incorrect ssl certificate or something
else,

Hi, no it didn't open dunno why it was set at 22531, tried 700 not working either
I think its trouble to do with omniorb name server not running properly so it thinks there
is no service running to connect to.
when i start the server omniorb nameserver will initialize fine but when I use the
/usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d omniorb4-nameserver start from documentation I get a fail:S

New subject: Fred Omniorb Problem
Having trouble getting the omniorb nameserver to start
even when I initialize things in order , and get to
/usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d omniorb4-nameserver start , it gives me FAIL
getting error
Error when generating zone: Is nameservice running?
(CORBA.TRANSIENT(omniORB.TRANSIENT_ConnectFailed, CORBA.COMPLETED_NO))
Exception AttributeError: "'Zone' object has no attribute
'zonedata'" in <bound method Zone.__del__ of <pyfred.zone.Zone object
at 0x9279e6c>> ignored
anyone know what causing this, as far as I can tell it doesn't look like omniorb is
setup properly , used netstat -pant to check LISTEN state and it seemed. Any idea's?

Hi,
as Umarzuki pointed out, the obvious reason for this error is that
servers are not running. Check output of 'ps -axu' if there are running
daemons fred-pyfred, fred-rifd, fred-adifd and fred-pifd.

Another possibility (I experimented that) is the absence of the PLPGSQL language. If you
guess that it's happening, check that postgresql-plperl-8.3 package is installed:
